Our Junior School Performing Arts program provides students with wonderful learning and performing opportunities, which foster a lifelong passion for music and the arts.
The classroom music program combines both the Orff Schulwerk and Kodály approaches to music education. These philosophies use singing, movement, drama and speech to develop an understanding of the elements of music.
All students from Foundation to Year 6 participate in a 50-minute lesson in which they create, improvise, analyse and perform using a variety of methods from our Introduction to Opera Program in Year 2, Ukulele and Percussion ensembles, to iPads applications and Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software.
Other performance opportunities provided in the Junior School include:
- Year 3 Choir
- Show Choir
- Year 3 String Program
- Biennial Production Year 3-6
- Biennial Celebration Concert Foundation – Year 2
- Year 5/6 Band Program
