From the Principal
June 16, 2026 – Edition 8
As we approach the final week of Term 2, it has been wonderful to see our students so deeply engaged in their learning and personal growth. Across Junior and Senior School, students have continued to demonstrate the curiosity and kindness that make our school community special.
Our staff continue to do an outstanding job of supporting each student to do their best. This care and dedication is evident in the many achievements and growth opportunities we have seen throughout the term.
Wellbeing Instrument
Thanks to the combined efforts of the staff and students in Leaver House and the PFC, our school now has a wonderful Wellbeing Instrument installed in the Junior School courtyard.
Under the guidance of Leaver House Coordinator, Mrs Bronwyn Kyne, Choc Tops were sold in Junior School as a fundraiser. The PFC also contributed some of their funds to the project.
The wellbeing instrument is designed to support sensory regulation, inclusive participation and emotional readiness to learn. Our Junior School students have enjoyed playing the instrument as well as hearing it echo around the playground.
Senior School Exams
It has been a busy fortnight in Senior School where the students have been completing their end of semester examinations. I wish our students all the best as they showcase the extent of their learning this semester in their exams. The teaching staff have also been incredibly busy as they mark hundreds of examination papers and complete their assessments and reports for the semester.
This week in Senior School we have moved into our Semester Two timetable. Our Early Commencement Program gives students a head start on Semester 2 learning before the holiday break.
School Assemblies
School assemblies are an important part of the school week. Through assemblies, students learn about events both in our school community and the wider world. At Casey Grammar, school assembly is student centred.
Our students are given a voice to discuss matters which are important to them. Students are given public speaking and performance opportunities and, in Junior School, every child plays an important role in their class assembly presentation.
It is with great pride I watch our students speak, act, play and create for assembly each week. Junior School parents are invited to attend assemblies when their child’s class is hosting. I encourage you to come along.
Long Service Leave
Dr Robert Jacob will be stepping in as Acting Principal for the duration of Term 3, as I will be taking long service leave.
Dr Jacob knows our school community very well, and I am confident you will be in very capable hands during this time. I look forward to returning in Term 4 and hearing about the many achievements and experiences our students have enjoyed while I have been away.
My sincere thanks to our students, staff and families for your ongoing support and contribution to school life throughout Term 2. I wish you all a refreshing and restful break!
