Memorable Performances as Term 3 Ends
We’ve enjoyed an incredibly busy but memorable few weeks in Junior School, with our students embracing a variety of learning experiences, sporting opportunities, fun activities and community events.
Our Father’s Day celebrations were a terrific way to recognise and celebrate the special men in our students’ lives. The Father’s Day Stall was a great success, and our Foundation–Year 2 students enjoyed welcoming their special guests into their classrooms.
The celebrations continued with a lovely Morning Tea hosted by our PFC. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special and particularly our PFC for its generosity and organisation.
Students Demonstrate Teamwork and Resilience
Our students have been shining on the sporting field in recent weeks.
Year 4 students participated in Hooptime, while Years 5-6 students competed in the Lightning Premiership. It was a beautiful day for both events and our students represented Casey Grammar with enthusiasm, determination, skill and impressive sportsmanship.
Thank you to Mr Byrne-Nelson, Mrs Harvie, Ms Roffey, Mrs Dunn, Mrs Black, Mr Elliott, Mrs Khvorostin, Mr Whalan, Mrs Harrison, Mrs Murray, Mrs Willett, Mr Benham, Mrs Badar, Ms Humphrey, Ms Parnall and Mrs Barnes who gave their time to support our students and make these experiences possible.
Our Years 5-6 Hooptime teams had a very successful competition, demonstrating excellent teamwork and resilience throughout. It is always nice to see our students supporting one another and displaying our school values beyond the classroom. Thanks to Mr Byrne-Nelson, Mr Elliott, Mr Whalan, Mrs Willett, Ms Parnall and Mrs Barnes for supporting our students.
As well, congratulations to all our students who represented the school at Divisional Athletics and a big thank you to Ms Roffey and Ms Humphries for accompanying them.
Our Foundation and Year 1 Swimming Program has also concluded successfully. This important program provides our youngest students with valuable water safety skills while building confidence and independence in the pool.
A sincere thank you to Ms Roffey for the organisation and care that went into making the program such a success.
Exploring Nature and Culture
Our Foundation Nature Navigators program, which had been postponed earlier in the term due to inclement weather, was finally able to go ahead. It was wonderful to see our Foundation students exploring, discovering and learning in the natural environment.
Many thanks to Miss Stephenson, Ms Hames, Miss Nowlan, Mrs Simonis, Mrs Leo, Mrs Whitehead and Mrs Dacruz for their support.
Our RAP Representatives participated in an excursion to Willum Warrain, providing a meaningful opportunity to further develop their understanding of First Nations culture, history and connection to Country.
Thanks to Mrs Riviere-Pendle and Ms Nowlan for ensuring the excursion was such a success!
Our Cyber Safety Project Family Workshops took place on the evening of 8 September. These sessions provided an important opportunity for families to learn more about supporting children to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. Thanks to those families who attended.
Grossbusters Production a Highlight
The absolute highlight of our Term will undoubtedly be our upcoming biannual Junior School Production, Grossbusters. With every Years 3-6 student involved, the production will showcase enormous amounts of talent, creativity and teamwork across two spectacular evenings.
The students will rightly be incredibly proud of their efforts.
A very special thank you must go to Mrs Kyne, who has devoted an extraordinary amount of time, energy and passion to bringing Grossbusters to life and has almost single-handedly led this incredible production. Her commitment to our students and the Arts is truly inspiring.
Thank you also to all our wonderful staff who have supported the production in so many ways. Special mention to Mrs Seal and Mrs Searles for their incredible contribution. It will be a magnificent celebration of our students and a genuine reflection of what can be achieved when our community comes together.
What a term it has been! Wishing all our Casey Grammar community a wonderful break.

Students Set to Star in Grossbusters!
Wow – what a term we have had! I am so very proud of the cast and all our Years 3-6 students for their amazing efforts on Grossbusters!
The students certainly rose to the challenge of auditions, honing their characterisation skills and learning their songs and dances.
Thank you to the parents, carers and staff who helped with all the costumes; the students look amazing.
On Friday, 11 September, we staged a preview for our Foundation to Year 2 students. It was obvious that the cast really enjoyed performing for them and couldn’t wait to do it all again with their loved ones in the audience.
To everyone on stage, backstage and front of house, thank you for making this such an amazing show. It is definitely a Casey Grammar School community effort, so well done everyone!
I look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday, 16 and Thursday, 17 September.

Celebrating Fathers, Learning Spaces and Sport
Our Early Years students embraced celebrating Father’s Day with special class visits.
It was lovely to see them spending quality time with their dads and grandparents, playing games and enjoying fun activities together. A big thank you to all our special visitors for taking the time to join us. We hope you had lots of fun and enjoyed your special morning with us!
The Foundation cubbies have had a little refresh thanks to some help from our wonderful Maintenance Team, and our Foundation students are excited to play in the different themed spaces. We are teaching them the importance of caring for our shared equipment by keeping items in the correct cubby and tidying up at the end of lunchtime.
Our Foundation and Year 1 students have also enjoyed their Swimming Program. It has been excellent to see the students’ confidence grow and their swimming skills improve throughout. We are very proud of their efforts and persistence in the pool.
Show your Team’s Colours
We are now looking forward to the last day of Term 3, when Team Colours Day will enable our students to celebrate by wearing their favourite sporting team colours and enjoy a fun day together. Students are invited to wear their team’s colours and bring a gold coin donation to support the Reid House Very Special Kids fundraiser.
We can’t wait to see our school community get behind this incredible cause!
Just a friendly reminder that all hair accessories must be in school colours. Thank you for your support in helping us maintain our school uniform expectations.
