Students Making Change

One of the joys of my role is when a student, or a group of students, comes to me with an idea to make a difference and our community gets behind them so they can achieve it. Last term, three Year 11 students came to me wanting to raise funds to support those impacted by the devastating floods in the Punjab region, the worst in four decades.

What followed were weeks of planning and bringing people together to make a difference. I watched, inspired, as Parm, Aswhin and Aarav brought about 15 of their fellow students together to create a stall filled with treats like samosas, mango lassi and pani puri, as well as face painting, music and opportunities for Polaroid photos. A huge thanks to all who were involved and thank you for the way that you each lived out our Casey Grammar School value of compassion.

We Will Remember

11 November is an important day for our country as we remember the sacrifice of so many through war. It is also an opportunity to support those who continue to be impacted through purchasing items as part of the Poppy Appeal. Families will have received a letter with information about the badges, bracelets and pens that can be purchased from reception until 10 November. All funds assist veterans and their families. Along with schools and community members across the country, we are able to make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much for our country.

Thanks for 2025 and Looking Forward to 2026

I recognise the wonderful work of Lokavya, our 2025 Social Justice Captain. She has been committed, reliable and has always sought to support the work of compassion and social justice at Casey Grammar School. We were delighted last week to announce our new 2026 Leaders, and Lokavya has been appointed Wellbeing Captain for next year. We are excited to welcome Sehaj into the position of 2026 Social Justice Captain. We look forward to seeing what she will do.
