New Student Leadership Team Announced

Last week, the 2027 Student Leadership Team was announced. We congratulate all students who participated in the selection process and acknowledge the confidence and commitment required to apply for a leadership position.

While formal leadership roles provide some students with additional opportunities to serve the school community, leadership is demonstrated every day by students who model our values, contribute positively to school life, participate fully in the many activities on offer and support those around them.

We thank all applicants for their willingness to lead and for the contribution they make to the Casey Grammar School community.

Congratulations to the following students on their appointment to the 2027 Student Leadership Team:

VCE Exams

Last week marked the start of the VCE examination period. We wish all our Year 12 students the very best as they begin the final stage of their secondary education journey.

These examinations are the culmination of many months and for some subjects, years of hard work, persistence and dedication. While it is natural to feel some nerves, students can take confidence from the preparation they have undertaken and the support they have received along the way.

We encourage them to focus on doing their best, knowing that their effort and commitment have already laid a strong foundation for success.

Film and Photography Festival Results

Over the last four months, students from Years 7 to 12 embraced the challenge of taking photographs and creating short films for the 2026 Casey Grammar School Film and Photography Festival.

They adopted the roles of photographers, cinematographers, lighting crew, sound and camera operators, directors, editors, actors, hair and makeup artists and so much more! Congratulations to all the students who challenged themselves to take part in this competition. Your work is spectacular and you should all be so proud of yourselves.

We received some absolutely phenomenal entries, which made the task of the judges’ panel in determining our winners extraordinarily difficult.

This year’s festival was proudly sponsored by Ted’s Cameras, which hopes to inspire students to continue exploring their passion for photography, visual creativity and the art of storytelling. Students were awarded Ted’s gift vouchers, gift bags and first prize for the film festival received a $1200 camera!

We are so grateful for their generous support of our festival and our students.

Here are our winners!

Commerce

Students Impress in ASX Sharemarket Game

Our students recently participated in the ASX Sharemarket Game, developing their financial literacy and investment skills through a simulated sharemarket experience.

Congratulations to Javen (Year 8), who topped our school leaderboard with a portfolio value of $54,346, achieving an impressive 23rd place across Victoria! This is a fantastic achievement and a fine example of our students applying their business and financial knowledge in a practical setting.

Market Day Managers Show Initiative

Our annual Market Day provided students studying Unit 2 Business Management with an exciting opportunity to bring their business knowledge to life through a hands-on entrepreneurial experience. Students were responsible for developing their own business ideas, completing a business plan and establishing and operating their stalls.

This involved making decisions about their products, pricing, promotion and sales strategies, as well as advertising their businesses to attract customers.

On the day, students put their planning into action, selling their products to fellow students across Years 7 to 12. From engaging with customers and managing transactions to working collaboratively and responding to the challenges of running a business, students experienced many of the practical realities of entrepreneurship.

Following Market Day, they completed a post-event evaluation, reflecting on their business performance, identifying what worked well and considering improvements for the future.

Market Day was a valuable learning experience that allowed students to apply key Business Management concepts in a real-world context while developing their financial literacy, communication, collaboration and decision-making skills.

Congratulations to all students involved for their creativity, initiative, teamwork and enthusiasm in making the event a success!
