Celebrating our 2026 Learning Experiences
As we move into the final weeks of the school year, it has been terrific to celebrate so many rich learning experiences across the Junior School.
Last week, Foundation N students delighted families, students and staff with their assembly performance. Using a time-travel machine, they journeyed into the future and appeared as residents of a retirement village, dressed as older versions of themselves.
Through humour and reflection, they shared some of their favourite memories from 2026, including celebrating 100 Days of School, spending time with their buddies and the many friendships and experiences that have made their first year at school so special. Huge congrats to Miss Jasmine Nowlan and her very talented class.
Swimming Program Embraced
Our annual swimming program for Years 2 to 5 concluded last week. The program was a great success, with students demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience and growth in their swimming skills and water confidence. The students embraced each session with a positive attitude, and it was wonderful to see their skill development and enjoyment throughout the program.
Creating Lasting Memories on Camp
Our Year 3 students recently enjoyed their overnight camp at Forest Edge in Neerim East. The camp provided a fantastic way for students to challenge themselves, build independence, collaborate and strengthen friendships.
Highlights included soaring through the hills on the flying fox, exploring the beautiful surrounds and spotting the many kangaroos that call the area home. The camp was a memorable experience filled with adventure, laughter, teamwork and, of course, lots of fun.
Sincere thanks to Miss Sarah Nolan, Mrs Anna Brown, Mr Mathew Pendle, Mrs Justine Saleeba, Mrs Sharon Willett, Mrs Rachael Woolcock and Mr Jack Benham! I thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay!
Heading into the Final Straight
I hope everyone enjoyed the Melbourne Cup weekend and was able to relax and spend time with family and friends.
We look forward to welcoming students back refreshed, re-energised and ready to make the most of the exciting learning opportunities and celebrations that await as we approach the end of another rewarding school year.
Learning and Having Fun with Billy Carts
Our Year 4 students explored the technical and fun aspects of billy carts at a recent visit by Supreme Incursions. Throughout the day, students explored important scientific concepts, including the forces that affect motion, such as gravity and friction, through engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
A special thank you to Jordan, our enthusiastic educator from Supreme Incursions, who expertly guided students through a range of challenges while encouraging teamwork and problem-solving.
Working collaboratively in teams, students were challenged to design and build their own vehicles without step-by-step instructions. They tested their designs, evaluated their performance and refined their prototypes, developing a deeper understanding of how gravity and friction influence movement.
The highlight of the day was putting their creations to the test on the Supreme track. Students also raced in billy carts and EzyRollers, experiencing the principles of motion firsthand while having plenty of fun along the way.
The incursion enabled students to think critically, work collaboratively, have fun and apply their science learning in a practical and memorable way. We are proud of the creativity, perseverance, initiative and teamwork demonstrated by all students throughout the day.
Please enjoy the photographs below, which capture some of the excitement and learning from this fantastic experience.
