August 3, 2026 – Edition 9
Another Exciting Term Ahead!
I trust that all our families enjoyed a relaxing and refreshing holiday break and have returned feeling rested and ready for another exciting term filled with engaging learning experiences and memorable moments.
Congratulations to our Year 6 Netball Team, who recently represented Casey Grammar School at the Divisional Lightning Premiership. The team finished an outstanding third overall, demonstrating not only excellent skill and determination but also exceptional sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience throughout the competition. We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented our school and congratulate them on their wonderful achievement. Many thanks to Mrs Khvorostin and Mrs Willett for accompanying our students to the event.
It has also been wonderful to see our Early Years Nature Navigators program recommence this week. This much-loved program provides our youngest learners with valuable opportunities to explore the natural environment, develop curiosity and build confidence through hands-on, outdoor learning experiences.
Our Year 1 students recently enjoyed an engaging excursion to the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne, where they participated in activities that complemented their classroom learning. Unfortunately, the weather was not as kind for our Foundation students, and their excursion had to be postponed. We look forward to rescheduling this exciting experience as soon as possible. We are also hoping for favourable weather this Thursday so our Year 2 students can enjoy their planned excursion.
Thank you to our parents and teachers who attended Parent-Teacher Interviews on Monday. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate each student’s progress, discuss learning goals and strengthen the partnership between home and school. I would particularly like to acknowledge our teachers, who invest many hours preparing for these interviews by reviewing student achievement, reflecting on individual progress and considering the next steps for learning. Their professionalism and commitment ensure that every conversation is meaningful, personalised and focused on supporting each student’s continued growth. We also sincerely appreciate the time our families dedicate to these important discussions. Parent-Teacher Interviews will conclude after school this Wednesday.
This week, our Foundation to Year 2 students enjoyed a Book Week Incursion, celebrating the joy of reading, storytelling and imagination. Experiences such as these inspire students to develop a lifelong love of literature while fostering creativity, curiosity and a passion for learning.
Our students in Years 3 – 6 will also participate in a Cyber Safety Incursion next Tuesday. As technology becomes an increasingly important part of students’ lives, helping students develop safe and responsible online behaviours is essential. This session will equip students with practical strategies to navigate the digital world confidently, make informed decisions online, protect their personal information and understand the importance of respectful online interactions. By working together, schools and families play a vital role in helping students become responsible and confident digital citizens.
I look forward to another rewarding term as we continue working together to provide every student with a rich, engaging and supportive learning experience.

Early Years
It has been a wonderful start to Semester 2, and it has been lovely to welcome the students back after their three-week break. It is hard to believe we are already halfway through the year!
A friendly reminder about the importance of arriving at school on time each day. We kindly ask that you ensure your child arrives at school ready to enter the classroom by 8:45am. Arriving on time helps students settle into their learning, establish a positive routine, and ensures they don’t miss important instructions or the start of lessons.
Thank you for your continued support in helping your child have a positive and successful start to each school day.
The Year 1 students thoroughly enjoyed their Nature Navigators excursion to Royal Botanic Gardens. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, we had to postpone the Foundation Nature Navigators excursion. We are currently working on a new date and will be rescheduling soon.
We have a busy month ahead, filled with many exciting learning experiences!

Jump Rope for Heart
Jump Rope for Heart has commenced and it’s fantastic to see our students practising their skipping skills and getting involved in fundraising for the Heart Foundation.
As at 28 July, Casey Grammar School had:
- 40 students registered
- $2,426.00 raised
- five hours of skipping logged

Foundation PMP
Parent volunteers are needed on Thursday mornings from 9:50am to 10:30am to help with the Foundation Perceptual Motor Program (PMP).
What is PMP?
PMP helps students learn how to move safely and confidently. Students take part in activities that build hand-eye and foot-eye coordination, concentration, balance, and confidence.
Students will do a variety of planned activities, such as balancing, eye tracking, crawling, jumping, hopping, climbing, throwing, catching, and body control. These activities work best in small groups of five students. To help the students learn well, extra support from adults is very important.

Years 3 – 6 Sporting Heroes Program
Last term, our students in Years 3 – 6 enjoyed another fantastic experience as part of the Casey Grammar School Sporting Heroes Program with a visit to Bowland Cranbourne. Students had a wonderful time competing against one another while developing their tenpin bowling skills in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment. There was plenty of excitement throughout the day, with cheers for strikes, spares, and impressive bowling displays. The highlight for many was the presentation of a real bowling pin trophy to the overall winning student, who was thrilled to receive such a unique prize.
The Sporting Heroes Program aims to expose Casey Grammar School students to the many excellent sporting facilities available within our local community while encouraging them to discover and enjoy new sports. We hope these experiences inspire students to continue participating in a variety of physical activities beyond the school day, helping them build confidence, develop new skills, and foster a lifelong love of sport and active living.
