May 13, 2026
Ideal conditions saw records tumble at our recent Swimming and Athletics carnivals, with a total of 11 swimming and 15 athletics records broken!
The Swimming Carnival had a lively and supportive atmosphere, with races in the pool complemented by novelty events and a House Chant competition led by House Captains.
Year 12 student, Billy B, was a stand-out, breaking four records, including two of his own,in the Under 17 boys 50m breastroke, 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle, and the Under-21 boys 50m butterfly.
The Athletics Carnival saw students enthusiastically support their peers in a close competition which also featured a Parents & Friends Committee barbecue and student led fundraising.
Lincoln L set a new Under 21 boys high jump record of 1.75m, breaking a record that had stood since 2013.

Joint Under 21 Girls Age Group Champion, Shae C, set three new athletics records in the long jump, 400m and 800m in her final year at Casey Grammar. Zara M broke records in the Under 13 girls javelin, triple jump and 400m.
Several students excelled in the pool and track and field, including Rugved C (Year 7), Harleen S (Year 9), and Lucas B (Year 11), awarded Age Group Champions or Runners Up at both carnivals.
Following the House Carnivals, successful students and teams progress to the Southern Independent Schools (SIS) competition.
Our Principal, Fiona Williams, says the House program focuses on participation, enjoyment, and personal excellence.
“Congratulations to all the students involved, particularly those who broke records,” Ms Williams says. “We are proud of their efforts, wherever they finished.
“Participation, regardless of ability, helps students build connections, develop teamwork and leadership skills, discover new interests, and grow into confident, well-rounded individuals.
“Some students also get to challenge themselves at the next level against other schools, which is a significant achievement.”
