Earlier this year, we advised the Casey Grammar School community that our Principal Fiona Williams would be retiring at the conclusion of the 2026 school year.
Following a comprehensive national recruitment process, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Celia Mara, BCom, MEd, GAICD, as the new Principal of Casey Grammar School, commencing 11 January 2027.
Following an extensive and highly competitive selection process, Celia emerged as the outstanding candidate to lead Casey Grammar School into its next chapter.
Celia brings more than 30 years of experience in independent school education and is currently Deputy Principal (R–12) at St Martins Lutheran College in South Australia. She has extensive executive leadership experience across teaching and learning, wellbeing, staffing, operations and strategic planning, together with a strong commitment to educational excellence and student success.
Throughout her career, Celia has demonstrated exceptional leadership, a collaborative approach, and a passion for building positive school cultures where every student is known, valued and encouraged to achieve their personal best. Her values, leadership style and vision align strongly with those of Casey Grammar School and CSV Limited.
Commenting on her appointment, Celia said, “I am honoured to be joining Casey Grammar School. I look forward to working alongside students, staff and families to build on the school’s many strengths, and to continue fostering a caring, inclusive and high-performing learning community. For me that means holding true to Bright Minds, Kind Hearts in practice, in making sure every student feels known, included, challenged, supported and empowered to become the best version of themselves.”
We will be organising a welcome event for Celia early in the New Year, providing an opportunity for the Casey Grammar School community to meet and welcome our new Principal.
