Junior School Report

February 11, 2026 – Edition 1

Ready to Learn

The Junior School year has begun positively, and it has been a joy to see students settling confidently into new classrooms and routines. Smiling faces, eager learners and familiar friendships – along with some new ones – have made the first two weeks a pleasure for staff and students alike.

Teachers have focused on establishing consistent routines, building strong relationships, and creating engaging learning environments where students feel safe, supported and ready to learn. These early weeks are important for setting expectations and helping students feel connected to their class and the broader school community.

We look forward to partnering closely with families throughout the year and invite you to join us at our upcoming Parent Information Evening. Teachers will share key information about classroom programs, routines and learning expectations for the year ahead. This event will take place this evening. Please see times and locations below.

We are also excited to welcome our newest families at the Foundation Welcome BBQ on Friday, 13 February, 5:00pm – 6:30pm. This is a relaxed opportunity to connect with staff and other families as we celebrate the beginning of our Foundation students’ Junior School journey.

A heartfelt thank you to our teachers for their careful preparation and dedication in ensuring a strong, positive start to the year. Thank you also to our families for your ongoing support as we work together to make this a happy, rewarding and successful year for every student in our Junior School.

Early Years

The term has begun wonderfully in Early Years, with our Foundation students embracing their first day of school with excitement and curiosity. They were eager to meet their teacher and classmates as they began their learning journey together.

The following day, our Year 1 to Year 6 students returned to school, delighted to reconnect with friends and teachers, refreshed and ready for another engaging year of learning.

Students have enjoyed exploring the new play spaces, including the pirate ship and the Junior School courtyard, which now features an exciting water play area.

Our Parents and Friends Committee (PFC) will host a Welcome to Foundation BBQ on Friday, 13 February, offering Foundation students and their families a relaxed opportunity to connect and build relationships within our school community.

A new indoor learning space has also been thoughtfully designed for Early Years students, where play-based learning supports the development of inquiry, curiosity and social skills.

As the term unfolds, we look forward to a range of events, including Shrove Tuesday, the Teddy Bears’ Picnic, Pyjama Day, Easter Chapel and the Early Years Easter Bonnet Parade. Later in the term, our Foundation students will also be introduced to their Year 5 buddies as part of our wellbeing program.

It has been a joy to see our youngest learners settle so confidently, and we look forward to watching them grow throughout the term. Thank you to our wonderful teachers for ensuring such a smooth and supportive transition for our students.
