Foundation – Year 2 Athletics Carnival
We had an amazing day at our Foundation – Year 2 Athletics Carnival at Casey Grammar School. Students showed fantastic energy, teamwork and sportsmanship as they took part in a variety of races and activities. The smiles, cheers and encouragement made it a wonderful celebration of effort and community spirit.
Well done to all our young athletes, and thank you to our teachers, families and Year 6 helpers for making the day such a success. Of course, it would not have been possible without the organisation of our Physical Education (PE) teachers, Ms Roffey and Mr Byrne-Nelson. Many thanks to you both.
Junior School Art Show
The Junior School Art Show was a highlight of the term, showcasing the creativity and talent of our young artists. With three rooms filled with sensational artwork, every visitor was treated to a visual delight. Each of our 525 students proudly displayed three pieces of art inspired by this year’s vibrant theme, ‘Food, Glorious Food’.
Highlights included a magical Glow Room and a whimsical Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, both capturing the imagination of students and families alike. Congratulations to all our budding artists and to the staff who helped bring this colourful celebration to life. I extend a heartfelt thank you to Mrs Searles for almost single-handedly putting the entire show together. We are indeed fortunate to have you as part of our CGS community.
5M Assembly – Eureka Stockade
5M students brought history to life with a fantastic re-enactment of the Eureka Stockade during their recent assembly. Through drama, costumes and storytelling, they captured the spirit of this important moment in Australia’s history, highlighting courage, unity and the fight for fairness. The audience was captivated by the students’ enthusiasm and teamwork. Well done to our 5M students and their teacher, Mrs Mace, for an engaging and educational performance.
Science Excursions – Years 2 and 5
Our Year 2 and Year 5 cohorts recently enjoyed science excursions that brought their classroom learning to life. Year 2 students had a wonderful time at Scienceworks, exploring hands-on exhibits and discovering the wonders of sound and how it travels. Meanwhile, our Year 5 students visited Twisted Science, where they delved into experiments about light, including how it behaves, bends and brightens our world. Both excursions were full of curiosity, discovery and fun, inspiring our young scientists to keep exploring the world around them.
Year 1B Assembly – Memories
Our Year 1B students delighted the audience with their assembly about memories. The performance featured expressive dances, stunning artwork and imaginative storytelling that showcased the creativity and confidence of our young learners.
It was a heartwarming celebration of special moments and the joy of sharing and remembering stories together. Students even included a fun brain break for the audience and presented some staff with rosemary as a thoughtful symbol of remembrance and gratitude. Congratulations to Mrs Black and her talented students for such a thoughtful and memorable presentation.
