Joan Reid Learning Centre
The Joan Reid Learning Centre includes a beautifully designed library and collaborative learning areas for all year levels across the school.
The construction of our double storey Joan Reid Learning Centre was completed in 2026. This centre, which includes a beautifully designed library and collaborative learning areas, reflects our commitment to creating environments where students can thrive academically and personally.
This state-of-the-art facility includes the following spaces:
- Large foyer for student gatherings, exhibitions and community events.
- Senior School study wing, providing our senior students with a calm, purposeful environment for independent and collaborative learning.
- A cosy lounge space where staff and students can lose themselves in a good book in front of the fireplace.
- Courtyard and nature playground, offering an exciting new place for junior students to play.
- Separate Junior School and Senior School libraries with connecting study and collaborative areas.
As part of the opening ceremony held in March 2026 and attended by staff, students, parents and special guests, Principal Fiona Williams commemorated the two mature trees at the heart of our new courtyard: the Golden Honey Locust and the Claret Ash. Planted in 1996 with funds generously donated by our school patron, Dame Elisabeth Murdoch, these trees have stood for 30 years as quiet witnesses to the life of our school.
“Now, standing alongside our new building, these trees remind us that while our facilities evolve and expand, our history and our roots remain strong. They connect past, present and future, just as the new Learning Centre will support the next generation of learners who will write the next chapters of our school’s story,” said Mrs Williams.
