Art Shows

Last week, selected Senior School students from Casey Grammar School had their work on display at the Southern Independent Schools (SIS) Art Show. We were thrilled when Year 11 students Mia B and Bella E both received awards for their artwork. The Casey Grammar School Senior School Art Show opens at 4:00pm on Friday, 21 November, in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) foyer. I invite everyone to come along to see our students’ wonderful work.

Remembrance Day

On 11 November at 11:00am, the school stopped for a minute’s silence to honour the sacrifice of service personnel who have fought and died in war, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. In Junior School, classes discussed the importance of the minute’s silence, while in Senior School a service was led by our Senior School Captains. Our special guest speaker, Mr Brett Harrison, also spoke about the importance of Remembrance Day, illustrating his talk with some of his experiences as a soldier.

I was fortunate to receive this beautiful Remembrance Day artwork by Leona in Year 1.

Junior School Swimming Carnival

The annual Years 3 to 6 Swimming Carnival was a huge success. Our unseasonably cold weather caused some concern in the lead-up to the carnival, however the weather was warm enough for students to compete. It was a fabulous day of friendly competition. Thank you to the PE staff for organising this wonderful event.

Social Media Restrictions for People Under 16

On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, all young people under the age of 16 will lose access to certain social media platforms. The eSafety Commissioner website provides excellent advice and resources for supporting your child through this transition. Our School counsellor, Mrs Sarah Quin, has also provided advice to parents in this newsletter. I urge you to talk to your child now about the changes ahead so they, and you, are well prepared. We have provided information to our students through school assemblies and the wellbeing curriculum.

Parents who attended our recent Parent Information Night on the social media restrictions and the revised Student Mobile Devices Policy requested guidance on how to set parental controls. You can find this information on the eSafety Commissioner website’s parental controls page.

Effective Upstanding

As parents and carers, we encourage you to continue the conversation with your child after these workshops. Please ask them about what they learned and whether they have any follow-up questions.

We understand the important role a family plays in a child’s education and development, and hope these workshops support this journey.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
