What a Week!
During Week 4, we celebrated National Careers Week.
National Careers Week is an initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA), and aims to celebrate careers, career education, and career development practitioners while promoting the economic, social, and personal benefits of career development.
In 2026, CICA encouraged students to ‘Discover who you are’, as a strategy for making informed subject and career pathway decisions. In acknowledging this theme, several activities were run.
More specifically:
- Monday
Danielle Hole from Advanced Personnel Management (APM) delivered an Information Session about Apprenticeships/Traineeships. This session provided detailed information regarding the structure of Apprenticeships/Traineeships, and Danielle gave useful insight into how students could secure an Apprenticeship/Traineeship, moving forward. - Tuesday
We ran the annual Subject Selection Expo. This event was very successful, and we are so grateful to the students and their parents/guardians who took time out of their busy schedules to attend. - Thursday
All Year 12 students attended the Victorian Career Show at the Melbourne Showgrounds. The purpose of this excursion was to provide meaningful opportunities for students to explore 2027 pathway options. It was a great day! - Friday
The Careers Dress Up Day was held on Friday 15 May. Students and staff from across the Senior and Junior School dressed up in a range of different careers. It was a pleasure to see the smiling faces on our students as they discussed the career pathways they were thinking of pursuing. What a wonderful way to end the week!
