The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

From Year 9 onwards, our students have the exciting opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award as part of our Casey Challenge Program.

This globally recognised program encourages young people to develop resilience, initiative and teamwork through four key areas:

  • Physical Recreation – building healthy habits and perseverance through sport, fitness, and outdoor activity.
  • Service – making a positive impact in the community by giving time and energy to help others.
  • Skill – developing personal interests, talents, or new abilities that encourage growth and creativity.
  • Adventurous Journey – fostering independence and collaboration through outdoor exploration and challenge. At our school, this begins with the Year 9 Adventurous Journey Camp, which provides a supportive environment for students to experience the spirit of adventure.

By participating, students gain valuable life skills, confidence, and a sense of achievement that extends well beyond the classroom.

We also encourage students to continue their journey by pursuing the Silver and Gold Awards after completing their Bronze in Year 9.
