Supporting You and Your Family’s Wellbeing

As we come to the end of another busy school year, we want to acknowledge everything our students and their families have navigated. This time of year often brings a mix of excitement, tiredness and big emotions as routines change and the holidays approach.

The break is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, recharge and support your student or young person to find moments of calm. Below are some gentle ideas and helpful resources you may wish to use over the holidays.

Simple Ways to Support Calm at Home

Resources to Support You and Your Child

Smiling Mind – Free mindfulness app for families
Short guided meditations designed for children and young people.

Mindfulness – Mindfulness is a technique used to reduce stress, improve mental health and help people cope with tough times.

The Mindfulness App – Relaxation and mindfulness strategies
Guide you towards reduced stress, better sleep, and improved health through the power of meditation.

Guided breathing and relaxation exercises – Practical exercises for calming the body and mind.

Parenting and mental health – Beyond Blue
Families are where children first learn about love, support and belonging. Children and young people who are part of a strong and supportive family are more likely to achieve their best possible mental health.
