Kindness and Inclusion
This week across the Senior School, we acknowledged IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia) and reflected on the importance of creating a community where every person feels safe, valued and respected.
During Wellbeing sessions, students were invited to contribute their pledge to a Kindness Wall, sharing messages of inclusion and support. The activity encouraged students to consider the ways we can all help foster a culture of kindness and belonging within our school community.
As a school, we are proud to promote an environment where everyone is welcome, where diversity is respected, and where all members of our community are treated with kindness, dignity and respect.
House Cross Country
Last week’s House Cross Country Carnival brought a real sense of energy and community to the school. Held in and around the grounds on a beautiful sunny day, students ran, jogged or walked three laps of the course, cheered on enthusiastically by our Junior School students who were out enjoying their lunchtime play.
Between races, student led activities created a lively festival atmosphere. Fundraising stalls, games, and a delicious BBQ hosted by the PFC kept everyone engaged. The event was yet another great example of our students stepping up, participating wholeheartedly, and embracing opportunities to challenge themselves beyond the classroom.
Year 9 City Experience
Our Year 9 students immersed themselves in the sights, sounds, and stories of Melbourne during their City Experience program – a key component of the Casey Challenge subject.
Across five days, they navigated the CBD, explored cultural landmarks, and developed independence and teamwork skills. Their curiosity and enthusiasm were evident as they engaged with the city and learned more about its history, culture, and daily life, forming the groundwork of their upcoming projects.
Careers Week Celebrations
As part of National Careers Week, our Environment Captain, Heer P, delivered an assembly presentation on the remarkable career of TV presenter and conservationist Sir David Attenborough, who recently celebrated his 100th birthday. Heer highlighted Attenborough’s lifelong dedication to environmental storytelling and the impact one person can have on global awareness.
Senior School students also explored the evolving career journeys of their teachers, discovering how aspirations can shift and grow over time. To finish the week with creativity and fun, students arrived on Friday dressed as their future career ideas. There were nurses and pilots, business owners, sporting champions and many more fantastic career ideas filling the school with imagination and possibility.

Subject Selection Expo
The annual Subject Selection Expo held on Tuesday, 12 May was a fantastic success, with families, students and staff coming together for an informative and engaging evening.
The event provided current Year 8, 9 and 10 students with the opportunity to explore subject pathways, ask questions and gain valuable insight into future study options across the Senior School.
A highlight of the evening was the outstanding support from our student helpers, who represented the school with enthusiasm, maturity and pride. Their willingness to assist families, share their experiences and help guide visitors throughout the evening contributed greatly to the welcoming atmosphere.
Staff were also on hand to provide knowledgeable and thoughtful advice, helping students and parents make informed decisions about future pathways and subject choices.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the Subject Selection Expo such a successful community event.

Year 11 Art Creative Practice
Year 11 Art Creative Practice students recently had the opportunity to exhibit their Sweets and Treats ballpoint pen drawings in the school’s administration building. Completed over three weeks during Term 1, this project addressed all key VCE curriculum outcomes and challenged students to develop both their technical and conceptual skills.
As part of the task, students explored and analysed the Personal and Structural Lens of Nicola McBride, whose detailed ballpoint pen artworks inspired their own creative practice. Through this investigation, students examined how materials, techniques, and personal perspectives can influence artistic expression while refining their observational drawing and mark-making abilities.

Leaver House Pep Rally
Leaver House recently held its first Pep Rally for the year, igniting excitement and house spirit ahead of the House Cross Country event.
It was fantastic to see students getting involved, cheering loudly for their Houses, and supporting one another as they prepared for a great day of perseverance and friendly competition.
Led by Leaver House Captains, Deep and Shamita, the energy in the crowd was electric, with students embracing the spirit of Leaver House and truly feeling the rise of the Phoenix!
