Singing for a Cause

Over the school holidays, Beenu from Year 6K participated in a disaster relief concert organised by a renowned singing school based in Sri Lanka, Ashanti’s School of Music. More than 60 students took part in the event. Well done Beenu!

Year 2 Music Classes

Year 2 students have been very busy learning how to read and perform a variety of rhythms. Please see the videos of some students in action.

Battle of the Bands

We are excited to once again host Casey Grammar School’s Battle of the Bands, to be held at lunchtime in the Performing Arts Centre on Monday 23 March.

Students are eligible to perform a program of up to 10 minutes to a panel of judges, with the winning band selected to represent Casey Grammar School in the Harwyn Battle of the Bands. Entries are still open, so please contact Mr Collidge or Mr Evans if you are keen to be involved.

Robot Song Drama Excursion

On Monday 16 March, the Year 9, 11 and 12 Drama classes attended the musical performance of Robot Song at TheatreWorks in St Kilda.

For many of the younger students, this was their first time seeing a show in a theatre. While it was a small-scale performance, it was a great experience and one that will hopefully encourage students to attend more performances in the future. Students will now analyse the show as part of their studies.

SIS Big Night

Casey Grammar School will once again be performing in the SIS Big Night. Our Band and Orchestra students will be rehearsing at Casey Grammar School, while our Choir and Dance students will be rehearsing at St John’s Regional College.

Students will spend three enjoyable days – 4, 26 and 31 March – working with students and teachers from across the Southern Independent Schools group. The program will culminate in a concert at The Drum Theatre on the evening of Tuesday 31 March.

Tickets are available via this link from 10 March.

Family, friends and the wider school community are warmly invited to attend and support our students. The Casey Grammar School Senior Vocal Ensemble will also be performing in the concert.
