It has been an exciting, action-packed return to school for Term 3. It has been wonderful seeing our Foundation students reconnect with one another, hear all about their holiday adventures, and also get into some hands-on and highly engaging learning. We have enjoyed learning more about the Olympic Games, the events, the athletes, special Olympic traditions and symbols, as well as the values associated with this very special event, including persistence, teamwork, sportsmanship and dedication.
Our Foundation students were very excited to participate in our very special CGS Potato Olympics, in which each student created and decorated their own potato athlete who then had the chance to compete in a range of Olympic themed events. Each event was specifically designed to develop particular mathematical skills and competencies, including length, distance, time and a range of number concepts.

From gymnastics and skateboarding, to shotput and javelin, it was wonderful for students to develop their mathematical skills in this hands-on, meaningful way, whilst also learning more about the real Olympic Games.

In addition to this very special event, Foundation students have also enjoyed having a special visit from Buddy our wellbeing dog. It was wonderful to learn more about Buddy and to have him in our classroom.

This term welcomes many exciting events and milestones for our foundation students, including celebrating their 100 days of School, Book Week, Science Week and many more. We are looking forward to a wonderful, memorable term.
