Careers

March 24, 2026 – Edition 4

At Casey Grammar School, we are committed to offering a comprehensive career education program, which encourages students to make informed decisions regarding the career (and life) pathways they want to pursue.

To support this agenda, career education is embedded into the curriculum in both Year 9: the Casey Challenge Program in Term 4, and in Year 10: the Career Discovery Program.

To further support our students to make informed decisions, Casey Grammar School has invested in the facilitation of the Morrisby Profile assessment tool. This assessment is completed at the end of Year 9, in preparation for important career planning in Year 10.

The Morrisby Profile assessment tool focuses on career interests, aptitudes, and some aspects of personality. The intention of the assessment is to provide an objective account of a student’s strengths, which is then to be viewed alongside their attainment at school.

In Term 1 (Week 3), we engaged Tyson Day, from Arrive and Thrive, to deliver an online information session regarding the Morrisby Profile. The purpose of this session was to support students and their parents/guardians to use, interpret and understand the profiles.

The session similarly provided practical tips to help parents/guardians to support their child in their educational and career decision making.

Tyson shared a wonderful resource that can support parents/guardians to have meaningful conversations with their young person. I would encourage students and parents/guardians of all secondary students to utilise this wonderful ‘Career Convo Dinner Menu’ resource.

Careers and Pathways Week – Year 10 (Week 9)

This week, our Year 10 students are participating in the Careers and Pathways Week program.

The purpose of this week is for students to conduct research into future career pathways by visiting tertiary providers, and to develop their enterprise skills in preparation for 2026 and beyond.

The program similarly compliments the work your child is currently undertaking in the Career Discovery Program (CDP) subject and will support informed subject selection.

Some of our students will share their experiences in the next newsletter.
