Social Justice

Students are encouraged to put our values of respect, inclusion and compassion into action.

Our Social Justice program is grounded in Christian foundations and inspired by the example of Jesus, who responded with compassion to those in need. Through a range of Social Justice initiatives, students are encouraged to put the Casey Grammar School values of respect, inclusion and compassion into action.

In the Junior School, each House supports a chosen charity throughout the year. Students raise funds or collect items to donate, deepening their understanding of the causes these charities support. One of the key events in the Junior School is the annual Christmas basket appeal, which provides much-needed donations to local families through our partnership with the Salvation Army.

In the Senior School, students are invited to participate in a variety of activities based on their interests. The school has established ongoing partnerships with a number of local and international organisations, including Backpacks 4 Vic Kids in Cranbourne, the Salvation Army, World Vision and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre in Dandenong. Some students volunteer with Backpacks 4 Vic Kids during school holidays, while others contribute through school-based projects.

In 2024, Senior School students packed 160 Birthing Kits for women in Pakistan, ran fundraising stalls to support the 40 Hour Famine and participated in a push-up challenge to raise awareness for mental health. These activities give students tangible ways to contribute and show care for others.

Social Justice themes are also explored through our Religious Education curriculum, helping students to engage with local and global issues in meaningful ways. We are continually inspired by the generosity of our school families, who support these efforts through donations and by encouraging their children to get involved.
