School House System
Our House system is an integral part of our Student Wellbeing Program.
During their time in the school, students are assigned to one of four houses, each of which are named after significant people in the creation of our school (Trist, Reid, Booth and Leaver). Houses are made up of students from all age groups with family members all assigned to the same house.
In Senior School, each House is overseen by a House Head who, together with the Student Wellbeing Mentor, is responsible for the holistic wellbeing of each student in their House. They nurture each student’s academic, emotional, social and spiritual development.
In both Junior and Senior Schools, the House system forms the basis for friendly, intra- school competition which includes a variety of sporting and cultural activities. Each House holds regular student-led meetings where students of all ages enjoy connecting with each other. Each house elects House Captains (Year 6 and Year 12 students) who take on positions of responsibility within the House and School.
To further strengthen connections, Houses also organize community service and fundraising projects and involve families in many of these activities and events.
Booth House

Named After: Mr William Booth
The founder of The Salvation Army, Mr William Booth did a great deal to take a relevant Christianity to the masses, meeting people at the point of their needs. General Booth once said he would stand on his head and play a tambourine with his feet if it would bring people to God.
Leaver House
Values: Teamwork – Respect – Determination

Named After: Reverend John Leaver
Rev. John Leaver worked as an Anglican priest from 1958 in parishes in country Victoria and then in the Diocese of Melbourne. Rev. Leaver had a passion for creating new schools and established the Victorian Ecumenical System of Schools in Victoria, of which Cranbourne Cristian Community College was one of the founding schools. Rev. Leaver was Chairman of the Board from 1996 to 2013.
Reid House

Named After: Mrs Joan Reid
Mrs Reid was a long time resident of the Cranbourne area. The growth of the population in the area made it apparent to Joan that there was a need to provide parents with a choice of education for their children. Mrs Reid was the inaugural Chair of the Board of Casey Grammar School (formerly CCC). She then worked tirelessly to promote the School, to support the Principal and staff, and to gain financial support from the community. She remained on the School Board until 2014.
Trist House
Values: Trust – Talent – Teamwork

Named After: Reverend Richard Trist
Rev. Richard Trist was a vicar at St John’s Anglican Church in Cranbourne where Mrs Joan Reid and her husband were parishioners. He was involved in early meetings at the church and was dedicated to supporting the vision for the children of Cranbourne to have the opportunity of a religious education.
